Irene is an artist at ASSIDO, the Association for People with Down Syndrome and Intellectual Disabilities in Murcia, Spain, where she develops her artistic practice through the organisation’s Art and Creativity Programme.

She has found in painting one of her greatest passions, alongside ceramics. Both disciplines allow her to explore her creativity and express her personality through colour, texture and form, making art an essential part of her everyday life.

Her work is distinguished by the delicacy of its brushwork, meticulous attention to detail and a constant pursuit of excellence. Irene enjoys dedicating time to each piece, carefully refining every element until it reflects the vision she has imagined.

Through this project, her creativity reaches beyond the studio, becoming ethical, artist-designed objects that celebrate inclusion, support people with disabilities and demonstrate how exceptional design can create meaningful social impact.
